Congratulations to Crystal Ashby, Mary Bowers, Elise Lingenfelter and Leslie Stitzlein for recently being recognized at the State Support Team Banquet. Due to their commitment to their students, the team transitions their students to be successful adults. Their students are involved in the school’s recycling program, plants gardens in which they grow food that they then learn how to prepare, holds a craft fair and helps create the crafts, creates a booth for the Loudonville Fair, and assists the local food bank with monthly distribution. The team also teaches every day skills, helps their students visit and explore college options, and has created a Job Skills Club that meets regularly to work on transition planning. Through their program, students are placed in work environments though out our schools and students in higher grade levels are placed in community employment. The variety of experiences the team provides ensures that these students will successfully transition into the world as a productive member of society.
