On Wednesday, February 5, at 6:30pm, there will be a meeting for those interested in College Credit Plus [CCP]. The CCP program is traditionally for students in grades 11 and 12, and sometimes 10th grade. As a requirement of the Ohio Administrative Code (3333-1-65.1), we are required to publicize this meeting to all students in next year's grades 7-12. This meeting will be in the LHS cafeteria and will include representatives from North Central State College, Mount Vernon Nazarene University and Ashland University.

The purpose of the meeting is to explain rules as approved by Ohio Higher Education and the Ohio Department of Education, and is required for all new CCP students. Students who have previously taken CCP courses are not required to attend.

This process can be confusing, so it is recommended for anyone interested in CCP to attend the meeting. There will be an explanation of how students can meet eligibility requirements, and for which classes students may qualify.

As part of participating in CCP, students and parents are required to meet with their guidance counselor/advisor to discuss the advantages or possible difficulties of CCP. Also, every student, even those who participated before, who chooses to participate in CCP for the upcoming school year [no matter which college they plan to attend], is required to complete and submit a "Letter of Intent" form to Ms. Kristen Thiebaud, LHS Guidance Counselor, prior to March 31, 2025.

We are very fortunate to be able to offer a considerable amount of college credit plus classes at LHS through a partnership with North Central State College. Classes at LHS are free to students and occur within the regular school day. We are committed to helping students and families get a head start on college and career related education that lead to certification and degreed programs.
